Moisture tracer - MM400

Analyzers of series MM400 have been designed to determine the moisture level in gases. The MM400 offers ease in use and an excellent cost/performance ratio. The MM400 works with a high quality aluminium oxide moisture sensor. It offers reliable  results from -100°C…+20°C dewpoint.

The measuring cell of these moisture analyzers has a permeable layer of aluminium oxide  on a conductive substrate and a thin coating of gold. the aluminium core changes the electrical capacity to the gold layer proportionally to the humidity of the sample gas.  If the sensor is exposed to the moisture, water molecules get rhough the electrode to the surface ofth oxide and form bridge bonds there The resistance value and the polarisation capability change as a result of the oxide being enriched with moisture as a result of the absorption.

Information onthe dewpoint measuring device MM400

The MM400 moisture analyzers offer the following measuring data:

  • Response time (humid to dry): <1min_ from -20°C…-60°C
  • Response time (dry to humid): <1min_ from -100°C… -20°C
  • Measurement inaccuracy: 1% of +20°C…-60°C,
    2% of -60°C…-100°C

As standard the MM400 is available as bench mounted version, as field verson or as 19″ rack version. The casings can be modified with expansions or cutouts just to customer’s demand. For special applications the sensoric can be used as transmitter (MT27 Moisture Spy) without further electronics.

  • Bench-mounted version MM410: 190x137x410mm
  • External installation on mounting plate – MM411
  • Field version IP66 MM420: 460x380x160mm
  • 19″ rack version MM430: 178x484x410mm

The measurement area can be defined as moisture level or dewpoint.

  • Moisture content (volume): <0.1…>2000ppm
  • Dewpoint (Celsius: -100…20.0°C approx
  • Dewpoint (Fahrenheit): -148…68.0°F appox.
